PODCAST IN PARADISE — PIP FEST
Ibiza · 30 September 2026 · The Hub Ibiza
A full day of ideas, creativity and practical podcast know-how — from capturing the sounds of Ibiza and creating compelling audio, to building a commercially sustainable show, finding your audience and experiencing a podcast recorded live.
9:00 — COFFEE & WELCOME
The Café Bar · The Hub Ibiza
Meet at The Hub, grab a coffee and get to know the group before we begin the day.
9:30–11:15 — IBIZA BLACKOUT: CREATING WITH SOUND
The Zen Den
We begin by switching off the screens and turning up our ears.
This immersive audio session explores the possibilities of recording beyond the traditional studio, using sound captured around Ibiza to demonstrate how location, atmosphere and everyday moments can become part of your storytelling.
We’ll listen to excerpts from outside broadcasts and audio created in outdoor studios across the island, exploring how sound can transport a listener somewhere entirely different.
Inspired by Soulwax’s Close to Paradise — an electronic piece built from the voices and sounds of Ibiza — we’ll then create our own version.
Using a selection of pre-recorded Ibiza sounds, voices and music, we’ll experiment together to build an original soundscape. You’ll leave with your own audio creation — and a very different idea of what a podcast can sound like.
11:15–11:30 — BREAK
11:30–12:45 — BEYOND THE STUDIO: LIVE PODCASTING & VIDEO
Podcasting no longer has to mean two people sitting opposite each other in a studio.
This session explores how podcasts can become live experiences — from audience recordings and event formats to video podcasts and content designed to live across multiple platforms.
We’ll look at what changes when you introduce cameras, a live audience and an event environment — creatively, technically and editorially — and how to decide which format actually serves your show.
13:00–14:00 — LUNCH
The Hub Ibiza
14:00–15:30 — FROM PASSION PROJECT TO SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS
You’ve got a great creative idea. Now, how do you produce it, manage it — and make it commercially viable?
A podcast needs more than a microphone and a good concept. It needs a plan.
We’ll explore the business behind successful podcasting: budgets, sponsorship, commissioning, contracts, targets, programmatic advertising and the different revenue streams available to creators.
As part of the session, we’ll walk through a practical P&L template — yours to take away — showing how to connect your creative ambitions with the realities of funding and growing a show.
We’ll also look at the opportunities worth building into your contracts from day one, alongside the expensive mistakes and pitfalls to avoid.
We’ve made the mistakes as well as had the successes. This session is designed to help you skip a few of the former.
15:30–16:00 — COFFEE BREAK
16:00–17:30 — FIND YOUR PEOPLE: MARKETING & DISTRIBUTING YOUR PODCAST
You’ve made an amazing podcast. Now comes the other half of the job: getting people to actually find it.
There is no single formula for podcast growth. Your strategy depends on your show, your audience and what you’re trying to achieve.
We’ll explore everything from artwork, positioning and distribution to audience development, social media, video and commercial partnerships.
Drawing on experience building chart-topping shows attracting millions of listeners, we’ll look at what genuinely works — and what probably isn’t worth your time.
We’ll tackle questions including:
Is video worth the investment?
What does an effective social strategy actually look like?
How do you turn first-time listeners into regulars?
Where should you distribute your show?
Who can you partner with commercially?
How do you build a community around a podcast?
The session finishes with an open Q&A and live problem-solving workshop, giving you the chance to bring your own podcast challenges to the room.
18:00–19:00 — BEAT WALA: LIVE
The Hub Ibiza
We finish the day by putting everything into practice.
Join broadcaster and podcast producer Jo Youle for a special live recording of her electronic music interview series Beat Wala, featuring a special guest and Ibiza icon.
See how a live interview moves from preparation to recording — and how conversation, audience, video and atmosphere come together to create a podcast designed to live far beyond the room.
CREATE IT. BUILD IT. FIND YOUR AUDIENCE. TAKE IT LIVE.
One day in Ibiza dedicated to making better podcasts — and giving you the practical tools to take yours further
